Fell off the wagon...trying to catch up to it

Friday, July 08, 2011

Yes, I fell off the wagon. It wasn't a little blunder or hiccup in the road but a major fall, crash and burn type situation. I lost my motivation and felt like nothing worked so why bother.

Well, today I decided to come back. I want to work on me and take time for me and lose this weight that is crippling me.

I am a little limited right now. My running which I was so excited that I started and did my first 5k is put on hold until my back can get better. I was told today that the only way to fix it would be surgery, which I definatly DO NOT want to do. I don't have time for that, not to mention all the risks involved. So I am back. I am here to try and take back the life that I love and want for myself.

I need to be serious. I need to be strong. I need to take one day at a time. Hopefully everything will come together and I will start to see some results.

In the mean time, I need all the support I can get!

Hey Hon! What's wrong with your back? I'm having the same battle, going to see a surgeon in Sept if the epidurals do not work between now and then.

So glad you're able to collect yourself and choose to be healthy dispute obstacles in the road.

Welcome back! I love what KCATHY said - I'm going to take that advice since I have repeatedly fallen off the wagon too.

Good luck - and know that the RFML team is still out there and doing challenges... so come back and say hi!

You can do it! I was just talking to a friend yesterday who told me about a psychological theory about how people make major life changes like dieting or quitting smoking. She says most successful achievers go through multiple cycles of trying, falling back, and trying again before reaching a point at which nothing can stop them. Think of the other times as practice. Now you know what you need better, you have better ideas about what works for you and how to pull it off, and your back has given you a powerful additional motivation to get going. You can look back later at today as "when I finally, really went all the way." Well, except you'll probably think of a way to say it that doesn't sound like you're describing having sex in high school. *sigh* Good luck!
