Darn those graduation parties!

I did well all day, then "stopped by" a graduation party on the way home. I should have known I was in danger! I was hungry, and tired from working all day (I work 10 hour shifts--unbearably long), and there was that CAKE with CHOCOLATE MOUSSE in the middle! NO!! And some cruel person had brought homemade BAKLAVA!! WHAT were these people THINKING???
There. It did feel better to put some of the blame on the party organizers. But we all know whose fault it REALLY was--mine! I hope I did not sacrifice the pound I was hoping to lose this week from one day's bad behavior. But knowing the way my body functions--I bet I did. It is so frustrating to have to be so good for so long, to lose so little!
My kids will be gone periodically over the summer, I think I may join a gym and try to get into that. As I mentioned yesterday, summer is my best time for weight loss--the sunshine picks up my mood and keeps me moving. This has been such an educational experience--I have always enjoyed figuring out what makes other people tick (I got my master's in psychology 4 years ago), but paradoxically, have a heck of a time figuring MYSELF out!! It is a slow journey! But interesting, at the same time. On the bright side, people are actually starting to comment on my weight loss. Not a lot, but a little. And that helps.
