Roses Aren't Always Red, poem by Reggie

Roses Aren't Always Red
Roses aren't always red-
The 'head' of the household, isn't always the head.
After reading this poem, if you're confused-
Then, lucky you, you've never been misused/abused.
Every woman who is a 'ten-'
Isn't necessarily thin.
There are men who're definitely triggered-
By the sexiness of a woman- full-figured.
Just because she kisses you, so-
Bear in mind- No still means no!
Brothers, it's unworthy, if you have to take it-
If you think that makes you a man? - You're sadly mistaking.
The mentally-ill aren't all crazy-
Their disorders do not mean they're lazy.
Mental-illness isn't what most think-
It could cause even the strongest to sink.
Silicone, does not, a woman, make-
I wish we'd all realize this, for goodness' sake.
It's not the shape, or the size-
It's the mind and heart that defines the prize.
Just because one finds someone-
It does not mean the work is done.
The things one did- so he could sweep her-
He must continue- in order to keep her.
If she doesn't want you, but will take your money-
Then you're involved with crap wrapped up with honey.
And if he says wants you, but only for sex-
Then ask yourself, girl- why isn't he your ex?
Don't just look for someone who wants you-
Don't sell yourself short, whatever you do.
Don't believe lies; don't buy into the hype-
Find who you want, you know what you like.
Can you dig on the message I'm trying to convey?
Do you understand what I have to say?
Tell me, my brother, will you govern yourself so?
And you, my sister, will you set yourself so low?
I have a daughter (the biggest joy for me)-
With love I will teach her this lesson, certainly:
Be true to your character, whatever you do-
True character is who you are when no one but God is watching you.
