Peter and I had a great time with my long-lost friend Pat, and her husband, Tom. Peter and Tom had much more in common than I could have hoped for..not just loving the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox but loving their wives. Is that wonderful or what?
We met at Applebees in Saratoga Springs, NY and of course, I ate too much. But, I surprised them all with a newspaper article about the Kentucky Derby and insisted they all pick a horse and put up a buck...Lottsa laughs, but they did it.
Then we went for a walk downtown, priced hats to wear while watching the Derby..our favorite was $520. We laughed, declined and kept walking.
Then back to the Hotel, Peter and I had drinks and snacks and the TV on the Derby Channel. We talked and talked until Post-Time..we watched; commented on Hats, etc.; hooted, cheered and hollered, and not one of us won. But, what fun!
Then we went out to eat dinner at a Buffet place, an it was great (can't remember the place.)
Then a drink at the Hotel Bar, then BED!
I didn't sleep very well.
I hope all your Mothers' had a beautiful-family-contacted-day
!
I sent this to my daughters...not original to me
MY DEAR CHILD
You are the poem
I dreamed of writing
the masterpiece
I longed to paint.
You are the shining star
I reached for in my
ever hopeful quest
for life fulfilled...
You are my child.
Now with all things
I am blessed.

The Oregon Daughter sent this:
"You are the beginning of my dream,
The source of my heart,
All things are possible now
Because you loved
The memories shine like stars
In the skies of my journey."
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of you...
Hugs,
Catherine
