It's Easter! Happy Easter everyone. It is a day of reflection for me. Mom passed away last Easter. I spent some time this morning writing in my private journal and exploring my feelings. I did a review of the past year. A LOT has changed...and, in the end, all for the better. I can even see that mom's passing was a blessing. Her health had been slowly declining for years and her quality of life would have been extremely low had it continued on. So, now I can see the dawn.
Yesterday, we got together with my son and his wife, and my daughter and her boyfriend. We went to BD's Mongolian Grill for our family/Easter celebration. My son and his wife have plans with her family today...so we had our celebration yesterday. It was really nice to spend time with them. After eating and talking, we went to the movies. We saw Rio in 3D. Cute movie. I wondered if I would get any "aha's" at the movie. For some reason, the movies give me more aha moments than anything. Sitting here, reflecting, and thinking about the movie, too...I would have to say...my aha is how things all work out in the end.
That's the conclusion I came up with this morning as I was reflecting on all the changes in the last year. I feel that we have truly made lemonade out of our lemons. My kids and me and my husband have all had our fair share of challenges...but we've been positive...made the best of things...and moved in a forward direction...and are currently in a good place. It's not because we just happen to be here...it's because of what we did with our circumstances. It's because we tried. It's because we explored our options and have not only gotten what we wanted...but wanted what we got.
I picked up a little necklace the other day that I've been wearing. It's the same symbol that some of the contestants on Biggest Loser are wearing. So, I thought I would get it and wear it to remind myself that I am on the same journey they are on. It's the Karma symbol. "What goes around, comes around." It's true. But, we decide where we go and what we do...then we get to reap the rewards of those actions. That's the cool thing. That is what is making this a very Happy Easter. Hope you all are having a good one, too! Spark on!
