Good choices today~!

Thursday, April 07, 2011

I just finished dinner and I'm proud of the choices I've made today! emoticon I made it to the gym and checked my niece and nephew into the daycare they have there. I figured since you pay a set amount and don't have a time limit, I might as well take advantage of that! I did 20 minutes on the elliptical, arms and legs on the weight machines, and then a one hour step class to top it all off! I was there two hours and man I am pooped now! I was so worried that the little ones would be upset with me because I left them at the daycare for so long, but they were happy as can be! It has lots of toys so I'm assuming they were entertained the whole time!

For dinner tonight I cooked up a chicken breast and brown rice with mixed veggies:

Then since it is snowing tonight, (yeah, I said SNOWING! Crazy Utah weather) the kids wanted hot chocolate. I fixed myself a packet of swiss miss diet hot chocolate and topped it off with fat free cool whip. Such a delicious chocolate treat for only about 50 calories!

I have been nervous that once I have kids I wouldn't be able to stay healthy. I see so many people say they have trouble with it, but I'm seeing that I will be able to continue healthy habits! It will be more difficult, but definitely possible! We have been having lots of fun this week, even though it's an adjustment with them being here I think I will miss them when they go home! I started to miss them while I was working out haha.

On another note, I have to say that I love love love my gym. It's a ladies only gym and for the most part everyone is so nice! But today I encountered this girl who gave me the biggest scuz when I smiled at her while passing by. You know the type. The skinny girl who puts on a tough front and thinks that fat people are the scum of the earth. Uggghh! Why do people have to act like that???? Soooo annoying!!

    YAY for healthy choices!

My gym doesn't have a day care but I would totally take my son if it did =)

I'm very fortunate that my gym doesn't have any really snobby people. There are some young college aged girls that don't give anyone a smile/nod/time of day but hey, I guess they're just taking their time seriously- At least that's my hope!

Sounds like you have a great life!

I find a lot of the gym snobs seem unhappy - maybe they still seek the perfection which will forever elude them.

Although - one of my gym snobs now talks to me (I have missed only one weekday this year) and I seem to be gaining acceptance through familiarity.

Children will mess you up but as a parent I have to tell you - It is the most wonderful experience with the only downside is the years go by so fast.

    Take Care - Paul
