3 Nutritional Changes I have made.

Thursday, April 07, 2011

Hello all. Still here and going stronger than ever before! I have not blogged all week as it was Michaela's first birthday and so things have been busy! We are leaving tomorrow for another party with the family up in Dallas. I am losing and doing GREAT! Now at 27 lbs lost since Jan 1st!! I was so surprised how well things are going, in the past 10 days alone I have lost 5.2 lbs! See what clean eating can do!!!! IT WORKS!!!!

I was asked today by a friend what are the 3 nutritional changes I have made recently which has helped me shed the pounds...

1. Fiber! My favorite blend is shown in the picture above, Garden for Life Raw Fiber and Super seed. I have always had a high fiber diet but ever since December I started really focusing on the sources of my fiber. Instead of buying high fiber things I switched to plant and legume based sources. Some of the ingredients of these are....Garbanzo bean sprouts, Quinoa sprouts, Adzuki sprouts, Chia seeds, Flax seeds, Amaranth sprouts, Lentil sprouts....and so on. I use these two on my oatmeal, yogurt with berries and of course my shakes!

2. My trio I have grown to LOVE! Raw Cacao, Maca root and Goji berries. Do these have a direct effect on my weight, we may never know. All I know is that I have been adding these daily and have seen a HUGE difference in my energy levels, hunger and overall well being. So I say, if it is working, don't change a thing! Whatever they are doing, I love it!!!

3. TEA, TEA and more TEA!!! I drink about a gallon of water a day along with around 64 oz or so of tea. My go to teas are Yerba Mate, Oolong and Double Matcha. I know for a fact that these have made a HUGE difference for me during the day. Forget juice, diet soda and drink tea!

I of course have more but these are a few of the things I have changed. I am always learning and reading more, trying to further this journey I am currently on. I have a long way to go and I pray I never stop striving for more!

I'm totally stealing these hints! need to learn about clean eating. I'm seeing a lot of this. I've learned to watch ingreds a little more but still dumbfounded pretty much. After watching some documentary I'm scared of grocery veggies now which is what brought my attn to the idea of clean eating. And I'm a (shhhh) bad cook. Not terrible when I have the recipe but finding some things is incredibly hard. Hope it's not weird to say but I had this strong sense of thinking how I would love to see your kitchen with supplement stuff! I'll just take note of these things you blogged about.

Great blog... full of good information! My beverage of choice is water and tea as well. However, I am not familiar with some of the other products you listed. I will do a little research. Thanks a bunch and keep Sparkin'

Good blog! I started tracking my fiber too and noticed my weight dropping more steadily. And, like you, I get my sources from things like legumes. I've never been a soda drinker so water's always my beverage of choice. I'd like to start drinking more tea, I need to make it a habit. Keep up the good work! It's great to wake up in the morning and feel good, isn't it?

    Thank you!

I believe in goji berries! Much better than caffeine! It's the best kind of energy... it's more a "happy thing"! Love love goji. I also agree that it helps the eyes and also the skin!

I'm a tea drinker too, and rather than just plain salada green tea, I will write down some that you've suggested here.

I'm so glad I found your blog!

I hope you enjoyed your daughter's first birthday. Nothing like that first birthday party! :)

    Have a fit day!
    I know you WILL!

I've started tracking different nutrients on my food tracker and its hard! I'm not sure how to squeeze them all in, espesically when I start to run out of calories! I recently added fibre so I will see how that goes. I think I'm probably already meeting my targets for that, we eat lots of fruit and veges around here.

I have trouble drinking water but tea is great too! I add it to my water allowance because its 70% water and 30% milk the way I prepare it. I hope it still counts.
