A man's steps are directed by the LORD. Proverbs 20:24 (NIV)

I am grateful for my painful feet. What?? you ask. Yes, I am grateful. Four months ago if you had told me I would be going to a gym and have a personal trainer, I would have laughed in your face. That is one thing I NEVER would have pictured me doing.

Two things really brought this to the forefront of my mind:

1) In my devotions (I have been reading Praying the Names of God by Ann Spangler) this week's focus is on Jehovah Jireh. JIREH means "will provide". "Since God sees the future as well as the past and the present, he is able to anticipate and provide for what is needed. Interestingly the English word "provision' is made up of two Latin words that mean "to see beforehand'. When you pray to Jehovah Jireh, you are praying to the God who sees the situation beforehand and is able to provide for your needs."

2) A Spark Friend's comment: "That gym membership was the BEST thing you've ever done for yourself!" (Thanks, Mellil!)

As I thought and meditated on Jehovah Jireh. I realized that He allowed me to have painful feet, which prompted me to go to a podiatrist who said the only exercise she would allow me to do was on the elliptical. Therefore, it was either buy one or go to a gym to exercise.
And when I went to the gym, they were having a special which was in my budget. Then I was able to have a free session with a trainer and after talking with my husband decided to go for it.

One of the things my husband said at the beginning of the year was that I needed to do something different that would jolt me out of the yo-yo. The gym was it. Thank you God for the painful feet!

Also, today as I researched vitamin D and B12 deficiency, I found a good site on vitamin deficiencies and the symptoms. Both have peripheral neuropathy as symptoms. I think once I get these back into the right ranges things will be better. I will see the doctor next week and will talk to him about it, plus try to find something that I can take to help ease the pain that will not cause weight gain.

Last night I did a last chance workout of 25 intense minutes on the elliptical before I went to TOPS. I could almost hear Bob and Jillian cheer me on (LOL). It paid off and I had a 1.25 pound loss!!

Today, I did a home strength training workout that my trainer gave me. I was going to go the gym for a cardio, but we went out to eat and took the car to the shop. Plus, my knee was hurting a little so I decided to rest it tonight.
