Feeling Blahhhh today

Yesterday I was not making choices to be my best self or to reach my goals.

I bought some over sized Jelly beans and 2 kinds of cookies. "For the kids" I ate more than they did. I am feeling disappointed and like I need to do a big overhaul and clean on my house. Spring Break started and I want to have some fun.

Blahh. OK so no more sugar for me. I don't know if it is from the diabetes or just normal but, too much sugar seems to depress me these days instead of make me feel better. So I just really need to remember that.

I am off to clean something. Maybe that will help me feel better. (I hate cleaning. love the look of it though.)

    having sugar issues myself it is so normal for us to crave sugar. why cause our bodies do not break down simple glucose like it should. that is what fuels our body, that is why eating to much carbs is bad "white flour, sugar, junk,donuts etc cookies, etc" for a diabetic our bodies are screaming fuel fuel. fuel but in reality our bodies can not break it down. so the best thing we can do is eat veggies, whole wheat, brown rice, lean meats, etc why our bodies can break them down and do it so much better, but we have to eat several small meals for our bodies to do so...
    have you ever heard of the glycemic index? there are a couple of books written by rick gallop who discussed the level at which our body breaks down different types of food.
    he has three types red light,yellow light, green light..
    meaning the red light is food we should avoid, why it breaks down to fast to sugar our blood sugar goes up to high then down fast,
    yellow light is food that take longer to break down but they need to be eaten in moderation cause they can make our sugar up to high and then down too if we eat to much of them
    green light is for foods that take longer to break down and this causes our blood sugar to stabilize if we eat small meals five to six times a day..

    the more i crave sugar the more i am not following a good healthy diet. the worse i feel, the less energy i have and the weaker i feel..I am not saying i don't crave sugar I do allot but what i am saying when i eat it I feel so horrible weak,sick, then bang i want more it is a really bad circle that gets me no where...
    all diabetics crave sugar.. that is so normal. i try to curve my cravings with fruit, spenda on fruit cereal etc.. it helps allot....

    You are doing great on your self awareness and knowing how the sugar effects you! Well done! That will help you to make the changes you want to make in eating the sugar, I know it will!

    I totally understand what you mean.
    Part of the process is awareness. I have noticed that I feel like crap when I eat crap.
    WTG on your awareness. Knowing what's happening means you can do something about it. It's like having a diagnosis. If you know what it is you can treat it... if you don't know what it is you do not know what to do.
    I'm with you on the cleaning too.
    Hang in there and keep sparking, you will move forward.

    Yup, sugar will make you feel like BLAH!~ It give a high then the lows are bad. Clean the house of all high sugar carbs. Eat cleaner and feel cleaner :)

    I am having the same thing happen. I am not diabetic but when I eat sugar I feel terrible. Depressed (although that is usually why I eat it) and very tired and sluggish. I need to remember the feeling so I don't do it again - good advice for both of us.

    emoticon for forging ahead getting back into doing something( like cleaning) thzt should help get ya feeling better. It is great that we can rtealise what unhealthy foods can do to our body. emoticon

    I see two things here: the direct connection between what we eat and how we feel. And the smarts to recognize that's what's going on.

    I love my sugar too, and it does make you feel sluggish the next day! I love the Atkins low carb bars and eat those when I feel like I have to have something sweet! Hang in there! Normandy
