There are a lot of people at the gym i go to that use the trainers. Personally i don't, but watch their techniques and practices and students. Some are getting their money's worth and some aren't. Find a friend at about your same fitness level (it matters because some of these trainers do or should specialize) and find out about their trainer. Most of them aren't magic, but they can help get you through a plateau by changing routines. Good luck with your journey!
