Granddaughter Home/My Doctor Visit

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Good News -- my baby granddaughter went home from the hospital yesterday. She is doing well. She was diagnosed with a severe respiratory virus.

I took her sister home last night. This morning my DIL posted on Facebook..."K" has been asking me all morning, "where'd Granma go?" I told her that you are at home, and so "K" ran to grab her shoes and said, "Go? Go? Bye Bye!" Then blew kisses to me at the door. Your Granddaughter loves you so much, it's adorable!!!!!"
I love grandchildren!!

My dad is also doing better. He had been severely dehydrated and gout in both feet and knees. He is on a diet of clear liquids and yogurt.

I went to the gym last night and did a 30 min cardio on the elliptical. I was tired and was ready to stop after 10 min, but I had decided to do at least 30 min and I did.

This afternoon I went to the doctor. I still have been having problems with my feet. The last time I went to the podiatrist she seemed puzzled as to what to do. So, I went back to my regular doctor. He said I have peripheral neuropathy. What is causing it he doesn't know yet. He did a finger prick and ruled out diabetes -- good news. He is doing about 9 blood tests to check out some other things. He also gave me a couple sample bottles of Lyrica to see if it will help. I will see him again in 3 weeks.

I plan on heading to the gym tonight to do a strength training workout.

Weekly (March 6-12):
A) Go to Balance Fitness at least 3 times a week: emoticon
B) Do at least 5 days of cardio: emoticon
C) 3 days of Strength training emoticon

Daily: 3/10
A) Practice portion control emoticon

E) Exercise for at least 10 min before I get on SparkPeople emoticon
F) High protein/low carb emoticon

    Hi Carrie!

Yep...I agree with everyone here; so glad your GD and Dad are doing better. It makes one realize how precious life is, when loved ones are so sick. So thankful to hear that diabetes is ruled out! You simply amaze me how you stick to your exercise, even when you don't feel like it. You persevere!

I think I would see a chiropractor and see if he can't FIX that nerve problem! Sad as it is, medical doctors STILL do not want to refer to Chiropractics 9 times out of 10. If it is TRUE peripheral neuropathy, nothing helps it much. But if it is just a pinched nerve causing the neuropathy a few chiropractic adjustments may UNDO it entirely!

Sounds like your little granddaughter is a real dynamo! emoticon Too cute!
