HIIII emoticon

Sooo as some of you may already know, I started the Dr Bernstein Diet on Feb 22nd 2011...so really only three days ago. My start weight was 216lbs..and my weigh in today is 214 lbs. I should be happy but for some reason, I expected it to be more just because its such a strict diet and I just figured Id lose at least 5 pounds of water weight RIGHT AWAY. I just read all these random blogs of people who lose like 10 lbs or more the very first week so it makes my 2lbs look bad. haha. And everyone fluctuates a few pounds everyday so it makes my 2lbs look even worse. I dont know why im being so negative (sorry!) ...Ijust need to vent. I guess im SUPER anxious to get the weight off......SO in a way....this is me just getting WAY tooooo excited! haha.
But yes..haha that was my two cents worth. All in all...im happy though. Im happy the scale is going down and not up...haha...I just want to fast forward at least a month and see where im at. I cant wait to see how much this diet really works. YAY.

    2 lbs in 3 days is AWESOME!!! think about it, it means you could still hit 4-5 lbs for a week. do that for the whole month and you are at 16-20 lb loss in ONE MONTH!!! that's pretty freaking fabulous! KEEP IT UP!!! You are doing awesome! But stats say the slower the weight comes off, the less likely you are to gain it back...that being said, its probably best you haven't lost 10 lbs in the first week....but there is still hope if that's what you want :) good luck!

    Ummmmmmmm hun. Not trying to not validate what you're feeling BUT you lost 2 lbs in 3 days!! That's freakin incredible! Really think about that. Two pounds in THREE days! You have to keep a couple of things in mind. First of all, you've already been working at losing weight for a while now. You've been eating well and working out with a trainer for a couple of weeks, so chances are even after starting the Bernstein Diet, you wouldnt lose such a drastic amount of water weight upfront. Now I understand why you want to see that number plummet, but you even said yourself if you saw a 5 lb loss, it would only be water weight. It's definitely nice to see a lower number, but really, 5 lbs of water isnt going to make any difference in your appearance or in how your clothes fit. 5 lbs of fat is a different story, but that's going to take a little bit of time.

    Don't focus on the negative Holly! Think about how hard you've worked for weeks and havent seen much progress in your weight loss because of your thyroid condition. You should be over the moon with a 2 lb loss in 3 days! Not to mention, didnt your "special visitor" stop by the day you started the diet? That could definitely explain why you didnt lose 5 lbs right upfront because I don't know about you, but I know I retain like 3-5 lbs of water weight EASILY during my time of the month. Hun seriously I don't think it's going to get much quicker than that. I *know* how badly and how quickly you want this weight off, but please remember the faster it comes off, often times the harder it is to KEEP it off. Just continue doing what they tell you to do and you will continue to see those results!
