Lesson today... I need to knock off the butter. Most of my FAT is coming from there.
Also the Lawry's seasoning salt.... holy crap on the sodium. I do not use salt at all. I DID NOT even think... Lawry's SALT.........I liked it because it did not have MSG in it...but seriously never gave thought to the salt in it. DOH!
And then I noticed I had the wrong cheese calculated. OMG................I am a heart attack waiting to happen let alone failing kidneys. OMG... I am still overwhelmed by the Cheese. I have been eating so much of it which I know is bad but now know the real calories/fats/protein... and even carbs depending on what kind of cheese you eat.
Oh and another HUGE mistake........... Habitant Pea Soup. I do not eat any canned soups but was craving this one as I really do love it. I never did the label stuff on it until later in the day. My SODIUM level reached over the mile high club 2x!
So each day using the Nutrition tracker is a must for me until I know what I am doing, until I am really paying attention to what is being eaten without thinking.
This whole week, eating wise has been a real learning adventure. Even though I know certain foods are not good... seeing it in print makes it even more real. I am doing pretty good with Phosphorous and Potassium. The fats/sodium need lots of changing.
I must find something to replace butter. BUT I hate margarine. HATE IT and think it has more chemicals in it than anything actually good for you. I love Butter.. LOVE .. and that is obvious.
Okay, so need to investigate some good ole fashion herbs for seasoning. Lawry's will be used very sparingly if at all. I think where we fail is in the taste of our foods of course. I hope it is not to late for me to not have to go on dialysis and to be able to maintain or even go up a grade from stage 4. Feb. 15th is coming fast. We will see.
