I love surprises. The good kind, of course.

There is nothing like walking down the street, glancing down, and spotting a five dollar bill.
Huh. Come to think of it, THAT hasn't happened in a very long time.

But other things have happened. Stepping on the scale this morning after a long (too long) break from this site, and seeing a loss. Not a big one, mind you, but enough to let me know that I haven't dropped off the grid completely. Considering I hibernated the entirety of last week because of snow and sub-zero temperatures, and didn't do anything to avoid good old-fashioned comfort food, I feel great.
(The downside is that I have a love-hate relationship with the scale to begin with. Along with coffee, it's a habit I have a hard time relinquishing. This morning, though, I forgive myself the reliance on such a spurious thing.)

Another unexpectedly great thing has occurred in the past month, but that's another day, another blog.

It's amazing how little changes can become subconscious choices we make. Something worked for you during the slowdown in exercise and consumption of comfort food! I wish I could say the same for myself, but that's okay, I'll get there. Staying active when it's as cold as it's been is not the easiest thing to maintain, and I do love me some food!

That's great as you must have been making healthy choices along with the comfort food. Looking forward to hearing what the great thing was!
