Getting Motivated--Day 5 (of 5)
Sunday, February 06, 2011
Wow, here I am on the last day.
Day 3--917 points
Day 4--650 pts
On Day 3--the day got very long with some people priorities coming into play. It was good, and needed, but took a lot of energy.
On Day 4--wow, hard to get motivated and stay focussed. I have so much work to do, in many directions, hardly know where to start.
My challenge on Day 5, the last day before I need to have some stuff ready for OTHERS to do, the problem is the same as Day 4: "I have so much work to do, in many directions, hardly know where to start."
I will need to find ways to focus! Here are some I can think of now:
1) Turn off my cell phone. Leave it off all day.
2) Work in shorter time increments. If setting a timer for 1 hour is too long to stay focused, set for 30 minutes, or 20, and count those.
3) Have a very clear focus for each time increment. Know clearly what IS allowed, and what is not, during that time, then
4) Just do it.
5) No "all or nothing" thinking. Make use of the time, do what I can when I can. Just now I started to sign in to an online Backgammon game. Ridiculous, even though I only have 1/2 a hour until I need to call my dad, I CAN use that time productively. I must not think "oh, only half an hour, useless, forget it"
It's only 9 a.m., so...good, I'm up earlier than other days. I can get a good start, to this day. Lord help!
