Too many NOTs

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Already falling down on making blog entries. It got cold and I went into hibernation. I should be exercising to increase body heat, but my bed and heating pad are doing too good of a job. Yesterday was a beautiful 62 degrees, but by the time the shopping was done, I was done in. I did enjoy it from the car as the kids ran me all over town and then from my front window.

I am trying to catch up on my spark mail. I got way behind the week before and am still not caught up.

I just noticed that I have way to many NOTs for this month. (I added the title after I started typing). This is the wrong attitude for my new decade. I need to put on the Alabama cds I need to test for skipping and boogie. Bed is for sleeping instead of hiding. Time to turn the brain on and motivate the body to other things than just going to works and shivering. Winter makes it harder to reach for the stars (ok, I lay and look at them during the summer because it is too hot).
Gee, it is never quite right if I don't decide to DO it. The robins were pretending it was Spring yesterday. I will pretend in the rain storm that they say is coming is liquid sunshine. H2O for the garden. Start of a new decade. Onward and upward. 2011 is a jolly good year. :0)

This is a good reminder to have a positive attitude. I hope you get this message. This is a New Year's season entry, so it will almost be time to make a retrospective on this and see how you are doing next year.

I have been having a lot more fun with SparkPeople since I started adding fun things, like keeping track of how long I can jump the rope without missing, or using moving to dance music as one of my exercises. I also enjoy cooking a lot, so that has been a fun part of SparkPeople for me too.

Thanks for all your comments on my feed and page. I am just started to understand how those things work better, and so I am kind of slow to realize how many great things you had said.

You are sooooo right about just getting up and doing it. I had the same problem as you to a certain extent. Since I retired I moved to South West Florida with the intention of meeting people and spending time having fun. Well I guess I'm just a loner because for the longest time (7 years) I sat in this house only to go out to shop. If I didn't need to eat, I wouldn't have done that. It's harder than I thought to make new friends and have fun. The bed and the air conditioner, for me, were my only friends. I don't have seasons here so I only feel winter with a slight drop in temp. I've just lately started to do some of the things I came here for. I still have no friends here but enjoy the beach and watching other people having fun. Sometime I feel that I'm just too old to start a new life but You and I have got to get out of that rut. We have got to go out and 'mingle' with the rest of the world. I know you wrote this blog a long time ago and I hope you have made that big change by now.
Remember to keep a smile on your face to make the world around you a brighter place to be~~~~

I totally understand your thoughts regarding winter, cold, and staying motivated. But yesterday was February 1st -- and a great day it was. Do you realize we can now actually say "SPRING ARRIVES NEXT MONTH!!" Hooray! That was all I needed to know. I'm thinking sunshine, warm breezes, blooming flowers, and budding trees -- no matter how much snow is on the ground (and believe me, there's plenty after last night's storm).
