Sticking to it....

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

I went grocery shopping for so many diffrent things and I am excited about healthy cooking :D I know that sounds a bit lame but I am trying brown rice and baked chicken tonight.. This is a lot easier than one may think and thanks to the support of people on here I am doing well. A friend had me calculate my BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) basically how fast my body burns calories and I was surprised it burned so many at just a sitting rate... so the only reason I was getting fat was my eating habits once those changed and I cut out the processed and the fast food the pounds fell off... since I exercise it probably is higher..... but me getting all the protein I can and healthy food is going. I am so happy that the pounds are coming off and if everybody doesn't understand why this is so important to me then they were never in my position. So I am going to stop looking to my roommates and friends and family and look to myself for the inspiration.

It does feel good to know I can go home and cook a healthy meal especially when every now and then I slip when eating subway (which is not that high in calories but high in sodium because their meats can be processed :(, but at least with sodium I can drink tons of water and work out and sweat it out... calories will be stored as fat if I don't move it move it.) emoticon

Congratulations on making those changes! Doesn't it feel great to put all that healthy food up at the register??? The first time I had the belt full of fruits, veggies, greek yogurt and whole grains, I was so proud of myself that I stood there taking pics of it all on my cell phone!
