The Deacon is in the house!
Tuesday, January 25, 2011
On January 22,2011 my husband, Jerry was ordained a deacon in the Anglican Catholic Church. We worked very hard the past several weeks since earning he had passed the various exams and boards to host this event in our small church and to have a reception and later an open house. Because I didn't know the date very far in advance I simply kept on with my diet and lost a bit more: I was able to get into a green wool suit belonging to my late mother which I had not been able to wear in many years. I actually had not planned to wear that but the blouse I was going to wear with my navy suit lost a button that morning and the navy suit is a tad...ahem...too BIG!
We had house guests: my cousins from Illinois and although I am still pretty doggone tired a good time was had by all. Jerry was pleased, the cousins were pleased, the parish was pleased and apparently God saw that it was good because the day went really well!
Amazingly although there was plenty of very good food I didn't go overboard as I tend to do in the face of a lot of my favorites. I had a modest plate and called it a day. I had a similar plate after church on Sunday...his first service on his own... and I really wasn't up to eating the rest of the day going to bed very early and sleeping very late! Amen.
