Getting Back To It

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

I've fallen and am working on getting back on the horse. I was struggling before the holidays only to get bronchitis at Thanksgiving. Which slows down my ability to workout. Then add several holiday parties, lack of will power, a birthday, parents in town for two weeks, another chest cold right after NYE; and I'm 20lbs over my lowest maintained weight. Ten of those pounds have been gained over the last three months. Which brought tears of shame to my eyes this morning. On the bright side, I'm still 35 under my highest weight.

So with a little congestion left, I have to slowly build back up my workout plans. But I really need to get a handle on my eating. It's been tough without a job these last several months to keep my esteem high. And when I'm feeling low, I turn to food. Not to mention my love for watching cooking shows and trying the recipes myself... many of which are not particularly healthy for me since I'm a champ at weight gain.

But after stepping on the scale this morning, to make myself accountable, I know I must and I WILL get a handle on this weight gain and reverse it.

Oh I sooooo get it. I'm in the same kind of boat. 15 up from my last stable weight and lost all exercise endurance. I'm struggling to get back on track. Working nights has really messed up my motivation, my diet, my "plan". But I am sensing a theme here. Maintenance IS the hardest thing to do. It is a life long struggle for most of us. There will be setbacks, challenges, obstacles, as well as triumphs. But with each others support, we will see each other on the other side of this struggle, because we have tasted the better life and already know we can do it. We'll keep each others chin up!

Good for you for coming back. I just came back about a month ago and have already lost 4lbs. Just start slow, ease into it... and lets plan a run togehter :) :) :)

I have been having a hard time for awhile now. But, I look forward to looking at how the other CCs are doing for motivation. You should look back at all of the things that you have accomplished: marathons, curves, hiking etc. You might be your own inspiration! emoticon
