Just felt like blogging about some random things going on....
Got my hair done this past week with some dk red highlights... Last time I did blonde so I ended up darkening up quite a bit. It's weird... sometimes I will look in the mirror and think "OMG what the heck did I do to myself??? That looks horrible!!!" but other times I will look at it and think "That looks pretty darn good!" I don't know if it is the lighting... but sometimes it is very noticeable and looks fake, but other times I think it looks subtle and looks really good. But the reason I am sharing this... I went from light (for me) to dark and the NEXT day I got about 5 comments from people asking me if I had lost more weight. No comments on the hair (not until a couple of days later when I was outside and the sun picked up the highlights), but I wonder if somehow darkening the overall color of my hair made me appear thinner??? LOL! I will post pics of it soon...
One issue that has me filled with some anxiety is that I applied for another position at work. It would be a GS position with the government and basicly what that means is that it's not exactly a matter of the boss hiring who she wants.... You have to be the most highly qualified applicant to make "the list".... and I am not even sure what that entails- I just know that it is not done locally, it is done down at HQ based on my application. I don't even know if I properly submitted my application. I am just praying for peace about the whole issue... If I get the postion it would mean lots of good things for me. If I don't, then I am praying for acceptance that it just wasn't meant to be. It was by total (ahem) accident that I found out about the open position and I just barely made the deadline to apply. Trying not to dwell on it!!!
I cannot believe I ran 10 miles yesterday!!!! My son and hubby were calling my cell phone wondering where I was at. Guess they didn't realize "my long run" meant "my LONG run". I laughed at my son's voicemail where he said "you're probably out running 50 miles or something" LOL! I had to run at dusk so I went out to the mile long track at the base. I like it because I don't have to worry about traffic and I can freely listen to my headphones without any worries... Nice heated potty's there too! :o) I started out with horrible pain in my ankles and my legs felt like lead and I thought there was no way I could do 10 miles and I started to get sad because I thought there is no way I can do my HM in 2 WEEKS! But I just conecentrated on slowing down my pace and by mile 3 I was feeling better... After mile 5 I felt like I was FLYING! I was ignoring my Garmin... only checking it at the mile point to see how I was progressing. I ran the last 5 miles 4 minutes faster than the first 5. I was pretty sore by the time I got home and spent the evening stretching and eating a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. Needed the carb boost! I feel pretty good today... woke up a little sore, but it worked itself out by evening time. Going to try a new paved trail tomorrow (3 or 4 miles). It's my day to take the boys to tennis and they have the big city trail right there that is filled with runners, so I think it will be lots of fun.
Should be an easy week at work... Then I get a 3 day weekend! :o) Have a great week, my SparkFriends!
