Day Seven: Devotions & Progress Report
Friday, January 07, 2011
Devotions today is just a verse because it says everything to me.
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (Proverbs 31:30
I am struggling today. I got 2 hours of sleep last night. I got up and went to the school and did my half a day. Most of the school was leaving at Noon today. You see a female deputy sheriff was shot to death on January first. She was very young, newly married with two small children (one of them is handicapped: I believe her son is in a wheelchair) The officers name was Deputy Suzanne Hopper. You can look up the news reports at www.whiotv.com There were so many police that came here to Ohio from Chicago and even L.A. for her funeral. The percession of cop cars alone was over 2 miles long then behind them were the general public and the family and friends were there as well. I don't know the exact number of people or cars but there were literally thousands.
Most of the school kids were being picked up at noon today to attend the funeral, because she was their Dare Officer. My class made her family sympathy cards. It has been on the news for days and the build up to todays events has been emotionally taxing.
On top of that, my husband and I do movie night tonight and he went and got SnowCaps and Junior Mints and two Mountain Dews. I told him I couldn't do any of that. I am cooking me a chicken breast and getting ready to go in there and make some veggie sticks of carrots, g. peppers, cucumbers & such...
Going to bed early tonight...
