Day Six: Progress Report & A Quick Devotion

Thursday, January 06, 2011

Hello All:

I am really tired this evening and it is late so this is going to be a quick one.

Today, I read I Samuel 17 which is the story of David and Goliath. I found the faith that David had as a young boy was amazing and a lesson model my life after. He knew that the battle had already been won because it was in God's will. It was in God's hands. He marched himself out there on the battle line and faced a man that was 9 feet tall and a seasoned warrior.

My Goliath right now is my weight and attitude but I am going to stand straight, hold my shoulders back and face my giant head on because God has already won this battle! This is God's Will that I be healthy and set an example for my children. It is God's Will that my attitude be that of a servant's heart. So, I can have the confidence that I am in God's Will and that this battle is already won. I just have to go through the actions of finishing the race so that I too may stand before the Lord and hear that I have fought the good fight and won.

I ate another piece of Pizza today. It was again my husband's. That is about all he eats is Mountain Dew and Pizza. Well, he got more than he could eat and tossed me the last piece and said, "Here eat this, I can't eat anymore." There it was right below my nose and I ate it but I have to say, Honestly, I didn't enjoy it. Not because of an overwhelming feeling of guilt because I didn't feel guilty really but because it tasted greasy and fatty and not very good. I think my tastes may be changing and that is a good thing and that was worth it if that is a discovery that I made today through that experience. Next time I am tempted with Pizza I might remember the yucky taste of that last piece and use that experience to resist.

My treadmill and I didn't go as far in our 30 minutes today. I only went 1.32 miles whereas yesterday I went 1.38 but that too is ok because I jogged 3 times during my 1.32 miles today and that tuckered me out a bit and the rest of the time I walked a little slower because of the jogging part but I am think I actually got more out of the less distance today because I was moving faster in spirts.

Well, that is all for today. If you would like to check out what I eat and how much and my fitness tracker they are available on my main Spark Page. I would like to leave you all with a song again.

This one goes more with the devotions from yesterday but what a blessing this song is and it does apply to David and Goliath because it is all about getting up and being strong in our faith because, "Jesus has over come and the grave was over whelmed the victory is won and I will rise on eagles wings before my God fall on my knees and rise, I will rise..."

I have noticed that my tastes have changed since I have started eating healthier. It is great knowing that I don't like the things that are bad for me as much as those that are good for me. Great job on the treadmill. You may not have gotten as far in miles, but I'm sure you burned more calories. Soon you will be running that whole distance. Keep up the great work. emoticon

You are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work. And if the hubby tosses you some pizza and you don't think it will taste good just stick it in the fridge. He can grab it for a snack. emoticon
