Blah runs

I'm having some hard runs this week and I think it's either because I'm tired, not getting to bed early enough or because I increased to 7 this past weekend or maybe it's just how much I hate the treadmill. Oh and then of course I'm also coming off of a little school break.

In any case I'm going to keep my runs this week a little on the low mileage side. I'm going to get to bed earlier than I have been too. I'm also going to try to increase my wake up time bit by bit to see if I can start running in the morning outside.

It's so hard to figure out a good running schedule, especially since my DH runs too and we have 2 children at home.

I've never been a morning person, but maybe that can change emoticon

    i agree.. sounds like a combo of things.. Maybe you can split your run? run 1/2 in the morning...1/2 in the evening... I'd also get to bed early..maybe make the longer runs your ONLY workout this week.. to give your body recoup time... Personally i like candy canes for my long runs..I can snap a piece off and pop it in between my cheek and gum and just suck on it.. Not the best fuel.. but it does work for the 8 mile runs. Have you tried the GU gels yet?

    Increased to 7 miles...? Whew! No WONDER! lol! Yeah, sleep...so TOUGH to get my butt in bed at a decent hour!

    But kudos to you for pushing yourself nonetheless!

    I am savoring the ever-increasing amounts of sunlight during the morning while on my treadmill.

    Thanks! I woke up this morning with a bit of a scratchy voice and a bit congested too. I did that on Monday too. I must also be fighting something.
    I think I'm going to try out some sort of fuel on my next long run which wont be until a week from this Sunday since I'm planning on taking the long run off this week. I'm curious about the jelly bellys and pretty sure I can't take anything in the form of liquid.
    Last week I just ate a sugary granola bar after 60 minutes or so.

    I hear you on running being harder this week. And I think it probably has to do with a combination of all the things you mentioned. Also, make sure you're eating enough to fuel so you don't bonk.

    Good luck getting a schedule nailed down. It is tricky.
