I'm back and ready for 2011...

Well, I wouldn’t officially be back if I didn’t blog! LOL! So, I successfully made my rounds to all my Spark peeps today, so I’m feeling good about that- I definitely missed everyone!

The time off had its high points and low points- doesn’t life always work that way? LOL!

I used the time to regroup and prep myself and my routine to get my head (and the rest of me) back in the game. The low points were that I was sick the last 2 weeks of December and then I had my moment of truth on January 1, 2011 when I stepped on the scale to get my official start weight for 2011. Well friends, my plateau that led into a spiraling hiatus cost me 7 lbs. C’est la vie, right? I had a split second of upset about it and then I said to myself, “it is already done, you can only fix it from here, so get on it!”

In that spirit, as much as I had to drag myself, I actually made it to the gym last night for the first time in 3 months! Of course, there were repercussions there too. I have lost my stamina on the Stairmaster. When I left I had built up to 45 minutes on that thing! Last night I could only manage 10 minutes, which equals 60 floors and 110 calorie burn. Ok, not stellar but I didn’t quit there, I was like, “oh, no chubby girl, you’re not getting off that easy!” So, I headed for the stationary bike and chose the cross country trek and cranked out 25 minutes for a total of 4 miles and 120 calories. After I was done, for a brief moment, I thought I would be ill, I think my body was trying to tell me that it didn’t appreciate me taking the break because now it had to get up to speed again. But, the moment passed and despite my exhaustion, I was not only proud of myself but I actually felt better (even though not an ounce had changed!) because it relieved my stress, relaxed my mind, and I slept like a log last night!

I’m taking a different approach this time and I feel confident that I will reach my goal weight in 2011. I’m not at a place to really reveal my process, I’m concerned more with sticking with my routine and focusing on that, so stay tuned for future blogs and pictures.

There you have it friends, I’m back! I hope that 2011 brings great things for all of my Spark friends, because- yep, you guessed it, “you all rock!” See I haven’t changed my personality! Lol!

    HA! I was just Thinking about Routine and then read this!
    I would say routine has been missing in my life in regards to challenge of shedding the poundage. I am so looking forward to sticking to a schedule in my fitness goals...

    I really felt your commitment and I am so happy you are back at it!
    YES! 2011 is going to be a very pro-active year!

    So glad you're back!! I totally hear you on the loss of stamina after taking an exercise hiatus. But great job on sticking with it and pushing through! You'll rock 2011!!!! Can't wait for more blogs and to follow your progress.

    Welcome back girl and like I said you can totally do it! You can make this your year and reach your goal! And dont even worry I went jogging yesterday after not going for a while because of the cold weather, I used to jog for AT LEAST 20 minutes without stopping, yesterday I was 5 minutes into the jog and was panting already.. I was like WOW I really need to get back into running! So you AND me will be working to get our stamina back emoticon

    Just keep pushing and you know we are all here for you whenever you need an extra push!

    So glad to hear that you are back and doing awesome!! You are starting the new year the way you intend to go on...putting the right foot forward and building new routines...WAY TO GO!! Glad to hear you are back at it and going to make 2011 YOUR YEAR...it is the year for creating memories, achieving dreams and overall success in all that you do...The world is yours for the taking!!

    Hey Girlie! Well, looks like at least the two of us are making a return to Spark for the New Year! Haha.

    Make sure you are careful getting back into the swing of things. Last summer, I was up to about 3miles running. Well, last fall semester, my workouts were mainly the aerobics class I was taking for credit. Then I decided in November that it'd be a good idea to start running again. Well. I figured, heck, I've been doing aerobics, I can probably still run at least a mile and half, two miles.

    That'd be a big no.

    Between almost 4 months of no running to speak of, a two year old pair of Asics, and running on pavement.... My IT band flared up in a big way. I wore a brace for a week, and then a month later, I tried to run over a mile again and was in a brace for a couple of days. STUPID me. emoticon

    Now I'm doing the smart thing and taking a step back and using a 5k plan that starts at 1/2 a mile.

    Anyways. I hope you enjoyed that book I just wrote for you :) Good to be back here with you! You are an inspiration yourself, you know!

    Im so glad you are back! I took some time off also and ended up gaining 5lbs. But it is a new year and its time to kick it up!

    You will get your stamina back in no time! Just keep at it!

    Glad to see you back!! I will be hitting the gym again in the next day or two - after being absent for more than a month. I'm really dreading it, I hate to think how much of my stamina will have to be rebuilt! At the same time though I'm excited to begin working on ME again!
