Gulp - Took the Plunge!

The past couple of weeks I have not had a focus on losing weight. I couldn't exercise like I wanted and there was too many snack things around. I didn't have daycare between Christmas Eve and today (start back up tomorrow) and my husband was off of work too. So we had a little staycation.
We got a major project finished of cleaning and reorganizing the storeroom in the basement done! Yeah! Also, we went shopping for ellipticals, since my podiatrist said that the only exercise she would allow me to do was the elliptical. We did find some models that I liked, but didn't like the price tag of $500-$600. My husband suggested that I try working out at the rec center or at a fitness center to see if I liked exercising on an elliptical before we go to the expense of getting one.
Well.... I checked out the rec center and I didn't feel right about it - some of the people were rude and the ellipticals were in the center of a very narrow track which people were exercising on -- not a very good atmosphere. I checked out URTime Fitness, but didn't like the personnel either. So, this afternoon, I went to Balance Fitness, they were very nice and I liked the facility. I was going to get a free week of workouts (off the web), but when I went there they had a special that was ending tonight -- registration fee $5 instead of $120. Then it was only $25 a month (on a month to month basis) with a month's notice if I wanted to cancel. So, I took the plunge and signed up. I also will get a free health fitness evaluation and free orientation on every piece of equipment.
I am excited, yet a little nervous. I have never exercised anywhere except at home - never in front of strangers. So, this will be whole new adventure.
I also saw my podiatrist today. She is happy that things are doing better. I still have pain, but not as bad as before. She says is just takes a while to heal. She gave me some inserts for my shoes and wants me to wear my new walking shoes more than my old tennis shoes.
She said the final diagnosis is capsulitis of the 2nd MPJ which can lead to a plantar plate tear if I don't be careful. It is mainly a an inflammation of the capsule around the toe joints from not enough support. I am to stay on an anti inflammation prescription and see her in 3 weeks.
I have sat down and done my 2011 goals and starting measurements. I will post that later.
