Day 23 - 28 Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge - A miraculous day!

Sunday, January 02, 2011

Today was a miraculous Sunday! Well, miraculous for me, anyway.

Sunday is usually a difficult day; I don't know if that's true of all pastor's wives, but it is for me. Several months of the year we have a choir that sings at our 9:00 worship and so I have to be at church at 8:30 a.m. Then I stay through the Sunday School time, and then either teach Children's Church or sing at the 11:00 worship. After that we often have something else going on, so Sunday is a long day.

Today wasn't a choir day, so I didn't have to be at church early. I took advantage of this by getting up early and actually EXERCISING! Getting up, in and of itself was significant since I had trouble sleeping last night. Word of warning...if you have not drunk all your water by an hour before going to bed, do NOT try to drink it all then. Especially if you still have 3 cups of water left to drink. Enough said.

So, anyway, I got up, listened to Genesis 4 and 5 online while I ran in place, then did Day 2's workout video, stopping after each exercise to run in place, or do jumping jacks or some other cardio kind of workout for 30 seconds between each exercise. By the time the video ended, I had gotten a half hour workout. After stretching, I had some quiet time of prayer and Bible reading, then got ready to go to church.

I can honestly say I don't remember having a better day at church. Sometimes, when you're the pastor's wife, it can become kind of, routine, for lack of a better word. But today, I was ready in mind AND body! I was joyful and celebratory. I paid attention and prayed all of the words of the songs we sang. Have you ever been singing at church and forget which verse you just sung? I have, but I didn't today. It was wonderful.

Thank you to everyone who reads this blog. Many of you have supported me and I am so grateful to you. May God bless you as you seek to worship Him by treating your body the way it was meant to be treated!
