Beginning measurements for 2011

I weighed in the morning at 146.2. I am very happy with that considering how much binge-ing I have done this month. But I am done with the scale for the month of January. It is put up and I will not step on it again until February 1st where I will weigh just to measure my progress. I am putting all thoughts of "the number on the scale" completely out of my head. My focus is on not binge-ing in the evenings and improving my running and also starting up strength training again. Even if I only lose a pound or two this month I will be happy as long as I keep the binge monster at bay and stay consistant with my exercise.

Other measurements are:

According to my Biggest Loser scale:

Body Fat: 34.7%
Water: 47.6%
Muscle Mass: 32.9%
BMI: 27%

And my other measurements:

Waist: 34.5
Hips: 39
Bust: 32/37
Arms: 10.5
Thighs: 23

I was excited about these because I normally don't like to measure. I had forgotten that I had documented in SparkPeople measurements from March and June and I have lost several inches this year! Maybe I should measure every 3 months or so.

I am going to start the New Year off right by going for a long run this afternoon. A group of runners are meeting at the trail to do a trial run before the official half marathon on Jan. 22nd. I am going to go out there and join them. I was nervous (because I don't know what to expect and I am terrible shy), but the best news??? Hubby came home from work (he works nights) and said he would like to join me. Wha-at? He said he loves running on trails in the woods... he doesn't care for the track or treadmill or the road. He also loves the cold (temp. says 18 deg and it "feels like 8 deg.). YAY! SO happy! Now I will feel more comfortable and confident with him out there with me... plus I won't feel so lonely, lol.

    Just happened by your page. Are you on the Living Binge Free team? The 21-day streak is pretty active there, though many don't make it to 21 days, at least not the first time. But it is a great target. I know my eating isn't excessive at meals. Bingeing is my big problem. I've made a lot of progress, but I'm pretty confident 2011 is going to be even better.

    I think concentrating on not binging is a very worthy goal. And yeah that DH wants to run with you!
    But brrr. We were so lucky, it's actually in the 40s today & was great running weather!

    Happy new year to you too! I enjoy reading about others' goals this time of year. I like that you're focusing on being healthy and taking the focus off the scale. I've been weighing myself much less frequently and it's made a big difference in my attitude. Of course, the pounds aren't flying off, but my attitude about my body is so much healthier!
