Why did I get rid of my fat pants when they stopped being just my pants?

Because of a day like today.
(WARNING - I'm going to talk about food. Lots and lots of delicious food.)
Looking in my kitchen, I can see...
scrambled egg and sausage bake
candied sweet potatoes
green beans with almonds and caramelized onions
three bean salad (well, 4 beans - I added black beans for kicks)
peanut butter cookies
chocolate - lots of all kinds of chocolate
Why do I mention it? Well, first of all, I made all that food, dammit, and I'm proud of myself. It was awesome.
Secondly, I had 10 people for dinner, but I only know how to cook for 100. It's a chromosomal defect on my mother's side.
Thirdly, this is a huge challenge for me. I love to graze.
So here I am, two days after Christmas, with all this food and no fat pants. Every time I reach for something delicious, my size 4 pants snug up a little and remind me what it was like when I was outgrowing my last pair of 18's that fit.
My pants guided my food decisions today, pinching my bloated belly and making me choose certain foods over others. A grapefruit and yogurt instead of all those baked breakfast foods, a turkey breast sandwich on fresh whole grain pumpernickel with a side of veggie sticks for lunch, and for dinner, a small plate of those delicious leftovers. Small plate.
Motivation can leave you when you need it the most. I'm glad I have pants that pinch to step up when I need them.
