Formulating stage for 2011 goals

I am thinking ahead to 2011 and am in the midst of formulating a game plan. I don't like to call them resolutions, because circumstances change. But I know I need to get back to strength training my arms and abs. Summer is coming soon here in Texas and I want to be wearing lots of sleeveless showing off some sexy arms. Also, I want to focus on marathon training.
I realized I am going to have to play it by ear week by week going off of DH's and the boys' schedule.
Here is my game plan:
Running 3 times a week. Twice during the weekday- about 4-5 miles non stop and a long run on the weekend using the run/walk/run method. And only run outside- weather permitting. I have found it exhilerating and can't even think about running on the treadmill again in the hot, stuffy gym. So that means while it is still winter and dark in the mornings, I am going to run in the afternoons after work.
But I def. want to get in some exercise in the mornings before work. I am a morning person and exercise does me a whole lot of good when I do it first thing in the morning. So, I am either going to do a Jillian DVD at home or go to the gym and crosstrain and strength train on days I don't run.
I am not going to focus too hard on what I eat... I mean I am just going to make good choices with 3 meals and a snack (if needed) every day. I am not going to calorie count... I am just going to avoid the junk and sugary stuff that I know packs on the pounds. My focus is going to be on my fitness... it seems like when that is going well for me, the healthy eating just seems to follow.
I am going to weigh in on Jan 1st and take measurements, then not think about it again until Feb. 1st. I have been doing good this week (day 3) so I am hoping to be back down to 145 by Jan 1st (I have no idea where I am at now... just know my clothes are tight!). I think I will only cry if I am over 150, but I shouldn't be. But I will not focus on my weight... just day to day fitness and food.
They opened up the mile long track again after 2 months of repairing it. I like it because it is on base and I feel safe and I can wear my headphones without worrying about looking for cars. It's not very busy either. I went out there today and ran 4 miles in just 3 seconds under 40 minutes... really had to push myself the last half mile to get under 40. I really liked it. I ran in my new Reebok cold compression pants and I felt so cool!!!! I felt like I looked like a runner and it did wonders for my mental side of running. I am def. going to have to get another pair. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wear shorts over them or not... but thought I looked pretty good with just a longer t-shirt covering half my rear.
Things are going well for me this last week of the year... want to keep the momentum going.
