Just Beat (it)

So, one week ago today I went into the hospital and had my first surgery. I stayed there for 2 nights, returning home last Wednesday. Not such a bad deal... no pain meds since last Tuesday, and lots of rest. Wednesday & Thursday were spent mostly in bed, but by Friday I was better able to take the stairs (slowly) and migrate to the basement for quality TV time.

Now? I'm definitely feeling much more mobile. Yesterday I ventured outside to walk to the mailbox (exciting, I know!). And today was my first official excursion out of the house: post-op appt with my surgeon.

It went well. First of all, it was nice to actually get dressed (wore my big jeans, and they were a bit snug, le *sigh*) and leave the house like a normal person. The seat belt was a bit uncomfortable, but I guess that's to be expected. Anyway, everything is good and now I'm back home and EXHAUSTED. I guess maybe the outing was a bit more than I had expected.

So, now I'm ready for a nap - something that I haven't really done for a few days, which is rather surprising. I just thought that I'd check-in. Now, I guess I'll go kindle myself to sleep... emoticon

Little things like going out, showering or getting dressed will tire you out after a surgery. But I bet your endurance will build back up soon.

Glad your able to get some rest emoticon
