Back Home in Louisiana

I think the fastest 4 days in history was Friday through Monday this past week end. It flew by like a whirl wind. We had a wonderful time with Jessica, Mitch and Logan. We celebrated Logan's eighth birthday on Saturday with a party and about 8 of his friends. The party was held at a baseball place, the kids and adults had a great time in the batting cages, and playing soccer on the indoor soccer field. I even played the goalie position for a short time, but I just didn't move fast enough, so they asked one of the dads to take my place. That was OK by me, I had no problem giving up my position, I wanted to be taking pictures any way.
It was a fun party for him and for the other children as well as for the adults.
After the party we went back to my daughter's house and we all played with Logan and the new games he received for his birthday until it was time to prepare dinner.
On Sunday Jessica, Mitch and I went for an early morning walk in their neighborhood. We walked two miles, but it was more of a workout than my usual 4 miles at home. There were a few tall steep hills to climb. My legs were burning and aching by the end of the two miles. It was fun to have a change of scenery though.
Late Sunday afternoon, Jessica and I went to the YMCA and had a good workout, we both did cardio and strength training. I think I will look into membership here at home. I really enjoyed working out with her, I think it would be something Dale and I could do together. I talked it over with him and he said that he would come with me if I am willing to go at 5AM, so I agreed.
Monday we put Logan on the bus at 6:50 and then we left for home. It is about a seven hour drive, but not too hard of a drive because most of it is on Interstate highways. So we are home now and missing our kids again.
