Running

Monday, October 25, 2010

So today begins my outdoor running. I have not run outside in years. I have been running on a treadmill and I know that it is completely different. To me it seems running outside may be a little more difficult as I don't have something giving me any momentum other than my legs. I think it is going to be very interesting to see if I enjoy this or not (I'm hoping I love it). I am beginning this because my darling friends LCHADBOURNE and her husband have talked me into running my first 5k with them on Thanksgiving while they are here for a visit. I'm really looking forward to experiencing my first one with good friends, especially with someone who is such an inspiration.

I am walking a 5k with my mother and father in a couple of weeks, I definitely will not be running as it is a trail walk and I most definitely am not up to that at this point. I will however be walking at a fast pace, hoping I can get a good calorie burn out of it.

So, wish me luck that running outside doesn't kill me emoticon

Enjoy your outdoor running! Dress appropriately for the warm(er) days we're supposed to have -- and dodge the few raindrops in the forecast!
