The training at work is getting me down now. For three nights we have be subjected to the worst kind of trainer. Having been a trainer/instructor for quite a lot of my Banking career this type of thing really grates on me. He looks scruffy with long straggly hair, (ok he's in 2 Rock bands but he could tie it back). Although his clothes are clean & reasonably ironed, his shirts keep coming out of his trousers. He keeps apologising for the equipment, lighting, in fact anything at all, but mainly he tells us something & when one of us questions something, he goes into a flap, doesn't remember who said what, says someone else told him it was this way . Basically he doesn't know the work area well enough to train us properly. Oh what a shame I hear some of you saying, maybe he wasn't given enough time to prepare himself.........I have had this guy training me on something else about 12 months ago & he was exactly the same then. Thank goodness we only have him for 3 hours this evening then we have someone else for the next 2 weeks who is really good. I'm just glad that my boss has been in with us this week & is going to have a word with his boss before he is let loose on the rest of our team next week.

Sorry for ranting on but it's good to be able to let it all go. I'll have to think of another way of putting all this when I have to do an appraisal of the course....although no-one took any notice 12 months ago......

Last time I had bad training I made an official complaint because I decided it wasn't fair us, or on the next people to be trained, and devalued the qualification we were getting.

Have to say it didn't change anything, but I felt better about it because I had tried.

glad you are getting a good trainer soon.

    Take care

I deliver training and it is hard, but I always makes sure that I am smartly dressed and that I have practised. If anyone asks me something that I'm not sure of I tell them that I will confirm / find out and get back to them, take their email or phone number and make sure that I do what I said.

I don't that there's any excuse for how he is. Hopefully, now that your boss has seen for himself, something will be done. I ALWAYS make sure that I read the feedback forms, and change things if I need to.

Had training with people like him before, just makes you want them to hurry up and get it over with seems like torture. Well
the good part is you only have a few more hours with him, you are a sparker you can make it through.

Sounds like a job for me!
This guy sounds like he needs a few lessons in life, never mind trying to teach others!

This is the worst thing that could happen... a person to training another has to know everything, has to prepare, has to present correctly and smartly, so, I agree with you.
This guy should keep his work around things he likes (playing in a rock band). People shouldn't be nice when receiving anything worse than what was promised.
I'm glad the boss was around and will take action.
    Good luck today.
