Lazy Ladies of Leisure

Monday, October 18, 2010

Well ladies, I do apologize that I have been so absent lately.

I left here on the 8th and drove to VA. My sister just retired out of the Army, so the first order of business was planning a retirement family dinner. (No easy feat with everyone's schedule.)

At the same time we were packing for my younger sister and mother to move down here to Ga to live with me. We rented a van and started packing. Originally it was going to be my older sister, my dd and I packing up and moving everything. But the day we got the van, cousins and nieces and nephews and all manner of relatives showed up to help. Then my 18 yo nephew decided he was going to ride along to help and at the last minute a good friend (also a great handyman) offered to drive the truck. That was a great relief to both my sister and I.

On Tuesday, the 12th, I had a court date reference the car accident I had in Aug (which was actually the primary reason I HAD to return to VA.) Our day in court was short and sweet as the case was quickly dismissed.

On Thursday after a very eventful start we finally arrived in Ga after 11PM!!! We locked everything up and promptly went to bed. But the days since then have been just plain busy and even painful. But finally after several 1 hour drives to the airport, everyone is home and dd and I are left with the remainder of the move in. And it is more than a notion. But tomorrow we are taking the dayoff. We will tiptoe around the boxes and pretend they don't exist. And we will practice being lazy ladies of leisure!

Katie, you were right. I did do a little. But I also took lots of long breaks.

Glad you got the move safely accomplished and the court date turned out well!

Take time to REST and tackle the 'settling in/ unpacking a little at a time!

Hope you were able to let yourself enjoy the "leisure time"! Sometimes I can - sometimes not! Just remember to take those babysteps to get it all done.

Good luck on that lady of leisure thing! I don't think you've got it in you!
