Starting over Again!!!

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

It has been over 200 days from the last time I blog and so much has happened. My mother in law was in and out of the hospital all summer until she lost her battle with cancer at the end of Aug. I took a part time managers position at work and bought a car on my own. Got the loan, picked the car out after checking it out on line and checking out the dealership also.
I have been on predinsone now for a year and am trying to get it down to 5mg and keep it there. It's hard to lose weight at the higher levels, and so I started lowering the dose this week in hopes that it will help. There is a trade off, as I'm a little stiffer in the morning and after a five hour day at work I come home with sore feet, but I'm willing to go through it. I'm having trouble with my foot and will be seeing a surgeon on Oct 25th, but will wait until winter to have anything done. The problem stops me from walking at a fast pace to really get the calorie burn going. So I use the elliptical, but still have pain, but not willing to give it up. I'm back counting my points and will start logging my food on here sometime this week. Now I have to retrain my hubby to not bring home the junk food.
One more thing, I walked my second 5K this past Aug. And hope to do more next spring and summer. And so I begin again!

New beginnings, thank heavens, are my salvation in the weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey. Along the way, hopefully, we are learning as we going. And changing for the better; small, tiny steps at a time. ps I;ve decided stiffness will be a way of life at certain times of my day. But what can you do?

That's what the Christian life is all about. It's a process and we learn new things along the way. "Three Steps forward and Two Steps back" is a book by Chuck Swindoll. I'm sure there are lots of applications and I can relate to that so many times. God doesn't give up on us and we can't give up on ourselves either! Sooooo good to see you again Deb!!
