Nutritionally challenged.

Friday, October 08, 2010

Just a few short years ago, a week away from home eating at restaurants would have spelled disaster for my diet. All that food, no way to count calories. Now detailed and interactive information is available from most chain restaurants on their websites. Try Panera's nutritional calculator. You can figure out any combination of their food with any substitutions of ingredients. McDonalds is like that now too. Want to know what a chicken sandwich is without the sauce? Or without the bacon or cheese?

I had made to order one egg veggie omelets for breakfast at our hotel, Panera or Panda Express for lunch, california pizza kitchen for supper and even ate at El Fenix! That was the hardest, but I figured out how much the chicken soft tacos were and saved enough for that. I only guessed/estimated one night when I had grilled salmon, green beans, and a sweet potato. I also love the fact that now you have free wireless net in most hotels, so you can track from where ever.

Today the scale said I lost 1.5 pounds. Nutritional challenge met and conquered last week. I love the internet!

Woo Hoo to the 1.5 pounds gone forever! I like those restaurant counters too. There are none though in Germany. Yuck! Plus I love German bakeries. I just plan to ride to them and home again, that way I will burn those calories that I enjoy so much,
