I've been . . .

I've been happily busy. Greg has been feeling well for a few weeks now - we've even been able to go out & have a bit of fun. It's been a hard year with Greg's ill health, which started November, 2009. I was so worried about him that I stopped taking care of myself - and gained back some weight. I think I've gotten myself under control again, and have started exercising, doing yoga and USUALLY eating healthy.
Yesterday I spent the day cleaning up the yard - I'd been just cutting the grass to keep it under control. This summer taught me that I'd been too ambitious in the yard and made it more difficult to take care of when I didn't have the time or ambition. I started simplifying it - less flower/vegetable beds and more grass. I don't have to spend the time weeding - I can just cut it down and it'll be good. Now I still have LOTS of flower areas and a bit of a vegetable garden - just not as much as this past year. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it up. Although I do have this rose bush that is CRAZY - it is growing on the side of the a-frame swing and up over it too. I have to keep cutting it back or else anyone who tries to swing will be cut & scratched up by the thorns - I'm telling you this bush is CRAZY HUGE!
I would like to take our Sadie for walks now that the weather has cooled down - she couldn't handle the heat this past summer.
I'm also trying to finish up an afghan for my sweet niece, Andrea. She started college this year (full scholarship!!!) and I've been working on it for almost a year. I need to finish it up and bring it to her. Just a bit more - I just have so much stuff to take care of that I don't have the time or energy to work on it like I'd like to.
Well, that's my update for now . . . whew!
