Time to get back on track

Friday, October 01, 2010

So it's been a while since I've been on here, but I really need to get back on track. I've gained about 7 pounds back since April, when I stopped keeping track of my calorie intake. I'm not as motivated as I was the first time around, but know that it still needs to be done. My husband and I opened a store, so now that I'm working more I can't get to the gym as much. That in itself is taking a toll on me, as I feel more tired all the time (again). Plus I find myself sitting int he store being bored out of my mind, so what do I do? You get the picture!

I'd still like to reach my goal of 150 some day, and the only way I'm going to get there is with the help of Spark People! So here I am!

YOU are way ahead of me in weight loss...at least in recent yrs. My desired goal weight is the same as yours (as posted here). I know how hard it is to get things going. I have been up and down since I joined SP...gained and relost 11 lbs! I was shocked...here I am trying to lose and then I gain!!! Eek. BUT it is not the end of the world. Life is a progressive adventure, so you just keep going and try to choose the direction you WANT rather than just drifting with the flow.

I have found T-Tapp to be very useful to me...i get my workout at home in 15 min. and then try to walk some other time during the day..even in short segments. I feel so much better when I do the basic workout plus and love the results. That said, I still find myself slacking at times! You may want to look into it. T-Tapp.com has lots of info, including links to try before you buy videos. SP also has lots of suggestions you could apply for your "bored" time at work.

So, don't know how I can help, but I offer myself willingly if I can assist and encourage you! You have done a great job thus far.

Tell us about the new store you and DH have opened! I would love to know more.

Now that you are back and beginning again, no matter what, you are taking a much more hold as it were on your health. There are many things you can do for exercise. There are loads of different types exercises you can do while at work, on break or waiting between customers. Check out all the exercises in the strength and cardio sections, many you can do without having to have equipment etc. Some you can do in the rest room while in there, even while you wash your hands.

Being on vacation, I don't have access to our gym either so I am filling in with many of the ones I did before we got a membership. We really need to swap out exercises anyway so that our bodies keep moving forward instead of stalling.

Check them out, they will help with the not getting to the gym, being bored and start you on your weight loss again.

I have been off for about 6-8 weeks b/c I got tired of endless calorie tracking and I was on a plateau. So, I took a break and gained a pound, but my blood pressure is good at 120/58 because I am still working out 5-6 days a week.

With the holidays coming, I decided I need to push my eating plan again and lose those last 10 pounds.

Here's hoping for the best for both of us! Good luck!
