Most of you are scratching your heads and going, "has she lost her mind?" My daughter Mandy is thinking OMG, what is Mom going to say now and "Please Mom don't embarrass me on here!!" Most of you don't know that KsLadybug is my oldest daughter. She has joined the Fall 5% Challenge and is a Firecracker. We have been down the weight loss path before and were successful....we just zigged instead of zagged somewhere along the line. Mandy is pretty quite and shy(not like her sister and me) so you hafta speak to her first.
Anyway back to why I'm listening to JD and the Muppets, which is a Christmas album in case anyone didn't know. You can ask Mandy I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC...any type. As long as it's Christmas music I love it. I even have a Christmas CD of cows mooing Christmas carols, that's how much I love it. It brings a smile to my face.
The boss has been a real butt the last few days. He waits until the deadline to start some of the work, then he stresses and takes it out on everyone in the office. So today I decided he is NOT going to get to me and upset me. I put in John Denver and the Muppets, put in my ear phones and go about my work. He can rant, rave and slam all the doors he wants while I sit here with a smile on my face listening to the 12 Day of Christmas.
Now I could go get something to eat. Why because I'm PO'd. I'm not hungry but it sounds like a good thing to do doesn't it. Grab a candy bar and let the sweet chocolate soothe my witchy emotions. Not today, not tomorrow not ever again. I can soothe my emotions by listening to Christmas music. And you can soothe your emotional times by doing something that you enjoy doing. Buy a coloring book and a brand new box of 64 crayons. When you feel one of those emotional eating times coming on, grab it and color a colorful picture. Or, if you are like me and in a "witchy" mood, color it dark, with midnight blues, crimson red, deep purple. Or put on music and sing to the top of your lungs or maybe dance. If you meditate or do yoga or grab a magazine or book and read a couple of chapters. Anything to get your mind off what is going on and off food.
Just because we are having one of "those" days doesn't mean we should to turn to food. I know it is hard but if we think about it and prepare for it, when the times come we are ready. We can beat a candy bar any day
Now where was I....oh yeah signing along with Miss Piggy "5 golden rings....Ba Ba Bom Bom"
