Rev Up Challenge

As part of the BLC 14 Challenge, I need to write a "rev up challenge" blog. The rev stands for (R)est, (E)xercise and (V)ideo. I needed to get 7+ hours of rest, get in at least 30 minutes of cardio and try out one of the sparkpeople videos. This was only a 4 day challenge to cover Friday - Monday and I really enjoy them! They help keep me focused over the weekend, which is much more difficult for me than the weekdays.
I did great on Friday and Saturday but I dropped the ball on Sunday. I had good intentions of getting my cardio in on Sunday but due to my daughter's swim meet and the warm weather, it just didn't happen. I usually get in a long run on Saturday mornings but my running buddy had to go out of town and so I decided to sleep in instead. Not necessarily the best plan.
I am definitely struggling with this plateau. I am really going to have to get focused with my exercise and change up the routine. I think my body is used to the long runs and cardio. I know I need to focus on strength training but this is tough for me. I really just don't like it much. I am thinking that those bodypump classes at the gym might be the answer. Now, I just need to fit them into my CRAZY hectic schedule!
I am glad that this challenge is helping me stay focused though!
