So I have never been a blogger but I thought that this site has inspired me to do things that I have never done before so I would try. I am not sure if anyone is going to read this but I am going to put it out into the universe anyways. I am not comfortable talking about myself but I am going to try.
I am not sure if I ever had a healthy relationship with food from the beginning. My mom used to say that she couldn't breast feed me because I would get sick. I had to be put on formula and I think it was all downhill from there. haha
My mom had a bad relationship with food and I don't think that helped and I know that she tried not to let it effect me but I was put on my first DIET when I was 8. Looking back I wasn't a big kid as much as I was a little bigger than the others. Anyhow, I went on and off diets all the way through high school when I went to extremes and almost stopped eating. I of course was not able to maintain that way of eating and ended up binging and then eventually started purging.
I was bulimic for over ten years and then went to treatment. When I turned 30 I realized that something had to change. I had to change. I guess you could say that it was my ROCK BOTTOM. I decided I had to get healthy even if I didn't lose any weight. Slowly but surely I started to do things that were better for me. Give up pop and sugar and drink water and take a multivitamin. I then started walking a little everyday and then a little more until I was walking a mile a day and then two.
I am down to 191 and I can say that I haven't seen that number in forever. I am trying to do things that make me feel good mentally, spiritually, as well as physically.
So in a nutshell that is my story. I know it is not as exciting as others but its mine so I guess it will have do. I will try to keep blogging as it is something challenging to me.

Everyone's story is unique and exciting because that is what makes us individuals. Sometimes we just do not recognize the beauty in ourselves that makes us exciting to others. It sounds like you are already making lots of positive changes in yourself. Congratulations on committing to making changes toward a healthier you. Best of luck.

This was a great blog. Everyone has a story to tell and we all learn from each other. Recognizing the problems are a big step in making changes and you are well on your way. The habits we acquire don't disappear over nite, it takes awhile for change to stick. As long as we don't give up we will be successful. emoticon emoticon
