Tonight I am suppose to be going to dinner with my husband and friends. They want to go to the Longhorn, I've never eaten there before and I don't really know that they have anything I would want especially after looking up the nutrition information. I have been doing fairly well with watching my calories as well as trying to eat healthy. Not to mention tomorrow night my business partner and I are having an open house at my house to show our bags, which means I have a house to clean and food to prepare.

I feel like if I don't go I may be upsetting some people but I feel like if I do go I will be upsetting myself. I wanted to get a workout in tonight as well as get the majority of my house work done so I don't have to worry about it tomorrow.

Ugh...I just don't know what to do.

So I went to the dinner, all went well I was able to order a fairly low calorie chicken with a side salad and a water. I ended up having a really good time and all of my errands will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

Thank you for all your advice!

If your husband doesn't want to share the meal with you ask the wait staff to put half of your order in a to go container before bringing out your meal that way you will eat only what you want and have leftovers for either you or hubby. I had a friend who was uncomfortable doing that she would after her meal & during the after dinner conversation she would take a sugar packet and sprinkle it on the portion that was left over that way she wasn't tempted to eat anymore. I personally would rather put it into a container and if I don't want it I give it to a homeless person who is loitering outside the restaurant more times than not they are very thankful.

Ask your husband if he is willing to compromise. If you go with him tonight is he willing to help you tomorrow?
Great idea looking up the menu ahead of time! emoticon I personally don't eat there any more because the food has never been worth the price or the calories. It has a cute decor but really not worth it to me. I recommend meal sharing. Maybe your husband will share his meal with you. The portions are big enough that they can be shared and equal a proper portion.
Good luck and have fun what ever you decide.
