1st Goal Met
Saturday, August 28, 2010
One of my goals is to blog weekly, but I decided I would start when I had a victory to blog about. So I've been impatiently waiting.
This month has been a revelation to me. I've discovered that I can exercise daily if I choose to. I've discovered that I can make logging food second nature if I choose too. Momentum has built up all month and I now have a streak of 30 days of logging food and almost 30 days of exercising. I feel like a different person, a motivated person.
The result is first goal met. I lost 10 pounds in just under a month. I didn't celebrate or go off my diet. I walked this evening and ate within my calorie range. Because I'm learning a new way of living and so I need to be completely consistent for a long time so that I ditch the old habits for good.
If you haven't looked at my sparkpage recently, you may not know that I've added a diet coach to my arsenal. I'm on the F.A.S.T. diet with Tony Dean, and the main difference is that you have to turn in your daily calories and nutritional information every night to him, as well as information about your daily exercise. You aren't allowed to ever not exercise, to ever not log food, or to ever be over your calorie range. You make a commitment and they expect you to stick to it.
By the way, it helps to have been on sparkpeople for several years and be so familiar with the logging process and to have many of my familiar recipes in my sparkrecipe box. I also helps to already have been exercising some days a week at the gym. The tools were there, and I was using them off and on. Now it's on, and on and On.
