Tackling Fitness Goal #1

One of my fitness goals is to improve my capability to do pushups (non-modified). So, today, I wanted to give myself a starting point so I set a stopwatch for a minute and starting pushing away. I was able to get 25 pushups in 60 seconds. According to the SparkPeople pushup article I read, that puts me just outside of "average" into the bottom of the "good" category. Although I am somewhat impressed and surprised by that starting point, I would LOVE to be able to double that in due time...

    I forgot about the SparkPeople fitness assessment. I'll have to try it.
    Three months ago, I could not do an unmodified push up at all.

    I can now do them on my toes.
    I'm not getting my chest to the ground like they want in CrossFit. I get my elbows to a 90 degree flexion. I practice chest to floor push ups on my knees and do extra sets of push ups on my toes.
