Couch to 5 K

Couch to 5 K the 1st week sounds easy enough, I know I could have done it earlier in the summer when walking the big hills in the area. But with summer and visiting nephews I backed off the exercise gained several pounds and cannot do things I could then.

A month ago when taking nephews home my sister in law gave me her gazelle I have been using it almost daily ever since I got it. Really burning up minutes/ hours on it I have been feeling really good and thought I was going to get through the first week without a problem. Day 1 kicked my butt. I am still up a few lbs from what I was early in the summer. I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Well I'm hard headed and it may not be easy but I'm not giving up although I must be careful to not over do it and cause more problems with back and hips. Will see what happens rest of week. If I can keep going I will, if not I will lose more weight, keep exercising and try again.

    Day 2 of C25K
    Did a little better today but walked for 10 minutes before running instead of 5 and 5 min after to cool down. The 20 min for the C25K I went a little farther & a little faster yet it didn't wear me out as much as Monday.

    Wed...1.23 miles 16:16 Pace

    Felt more like running when finished than while I was doing it. I think it might be a good idea to get in a good walk in before running on Friday.

    Try not to get discouraged if you don't advance exactly according to the C25K program. You don't want to risk injury and setbacks, so just take your time, listen to your body, and have fun! :) I'm starting back up on the C25K this week, so we can push through it together! Good luck!

    i ended up stopping outside cuz of knees but an running on the treadmill which is so much easier. good luck, and dont give up.

    It took me about 20 weeks to get to the end of the "10 weeks to running" program...stop where you need to and advance when you can. I got "stuck" on week 4 for about 3 weeks!

    It does not take a long lay-off on walking to take a toll in this heat.
