Bruised my ego and my hip!

Sunday, August 08, 2010

Race for the Cure 5k was this morning. I had a good pace going...even up the blankety-blank hill! There was a water station on the right side of me and a lady on the left side of me. I guess she really needed a drink. She cut behind me and accidentally clipped my right foot. I thought I was pretty graceful myself. I literally landed on my fingertips and then rolled to my right hip. Who says you can't keep a good woman down...for at least a few seconds! I ended up running 9 min 3 sec miles. It might have been a little better, but I was trying to get my hip moving after the fall.

This afternoon, I'm feeling my right shoulder and a little stiffness in my neck. I think I jarred myself pretty good. Thank goodness adrenline was rushing through my body at the race to get me through it. I'm now feeling my age!! LOL It was fun either way!! I came in 30th out of 135 women in my brackett.

Game Plan:
run in the morning
class at 8am
client at 10:30
enroll Fabian in school
client at 5
client at 6:30
couple at 8

Positives:
1. Had the afternoon off with the family!
2. The house is "my" version of clean!!!
3. Had fun this morning!
4. Ready for Bed...ooopppppsss! It's only 6pm! LOL

woo hoo! Glad you did so well at the race, but gosh, I'm sorry that girl tripped you! Good thing you were able to "tuck and roll" though...it'd be hard to explain to your clients tomorrow if you had scraped up your face! LOL It sounds like you had fun, though...I can't wait until I am able to run my first 5K!

So sorry about the fall...water stations were horrible...
I drove past the place on Southwest Trafficway on the way home and will try and visit this week.
I really didn't think the hill was that bad (the hills I have been training on make it a K2, not an Everest)...
