Glorious day

This morning started out with the 1st leg of the 1/2 marathon series - a 5K. At first I wasn't going to do the race but decided yesterday to go ahead. It will be whatever it will be. I got up at 5:45 did my morning routine. Got to the race site with a minute to spare.. no time for potty before the gun went off. I don't know what possessed me to run but that is what I did. I guess it was the excitement of the crowd.
I'd run a bit, walk a bit. Each time I tried to go a little longer than the last before I walked. My running buddies Steve and Dana came up beside me. We chit chatted as went along. Just like the 1/2 marathon last year, when Steve ran, I ran. July 25th I walked the Otters 5K, finished with a time of 52:45. This morning I finished in 46:42. A difference of 6.03 minutes.
Afterwards, I came home and took a shower before heading to pickup my DNL Danica and grandson Kayden. We took off the Washington, IN to the Stitching Post for some fabric. Afterwards we ate lunch at the Black Buggy. It use to be one a my fav places but I guess my taste buds have changed.
I dropped them off and came home for a 30 minute nap. The temps have cooled down to where we can sit outside on the deck and listen to the waterfall in the pond and the crickets.
