Gotta love youth sports right!?!

Especially as a single mother I find it every so important to have my children in extracurricular activities. I need them to learn commitment, sportsmanship, and team work. Not to mention, hopefully, by the time they are in high school they will much rather play sports and hang out with the kids that do too, rather than hang out with kids that ditch class and do drugs. (not saying it doesn't happen in sports too, but you get what I am saying)

Demand 1: The cost of everything! Football registration alone is $215 and that doesn't include new cleats and other required equipment.

Demand 2: Help find sponsor to donate prizes (gift cards, games, books, etc) to the yearly raffle. That means asking family and friends if their company can sponsor... which I hate doing. I'm just that type of person that never asks for help because I can do it on my own. (or so I think, most of the time)... But it's important. It helps with field maintance, donating to a family that can't pay the registration fee, equipment stuff... you get the drift. if we don't get sponsors they just raise the registration fee the next year.

Demand 3: I use it as my scape goat too. I can't cook a healthy meal tonight because child A is at practice till 6 and child B is at practice clear across town until 8. Drive through it is.... again!

3 weeks off from sports is offically over on Saturday as football starts! I've done so well the last 3 weeks, cooking healthy meals not just for myself but for my kids too! How am I going to fit it now? I know I have to come up with a way to make it work. Pre-cook meals, feed kids before practice starts and have healthy snacks for them afterwards when they come home hungry!

Right!?! I can manage those 3 demands if it is for the good of my kids, and the other kids in our community! Right !?! I can do this. I can be an active part of youth sports without giving up on my own goals to get healthy, manage money better, and be happy.
