Well part of my August Challenge is to blog weekly. This is going to be a challege for me. But I can do it.
I wanted to blog anyway. This week I was Motivational Team Member of the Week for 20 something with 100+ pounds to lose team, then on top of that also voted Spark People Motivator!
I am totally overwhelmed by all the people that have commented on my page. I am still working on my journey. I am not yet finished. So I never thought about people being motivated by my progress. What an eye opener. I don't often look at my progress as a whole, just week to week. I get frustrated, I get discouraged, I wonder if I will ever get there, just like everyone else. But that is all part of learning a new lifestyle and one step is learning that this journey is never over. It is a lifestyle change, for life. Even at goal weight you have to maintain healthy habbits to maintain the healthy weight.
It sounds cliche but anyone can do this, anyone! It takes hard work and percistance. It is not easy. But it is easier than having to live with diasabilities from your unhealthy lifestyle and health conditions from the weight. If I came to you and said, I am sorry but I was looking in your future and you are going to end up with high blood pressure that will cause you to have a stroke. Because of the stroke you will live in a nursing home partialy parilzed. You will suffer from congestive heart failure and get to the point you fill with fluid and the dr's can't flush anymore off of you because your kidneys can't handle anymore medicine. You will slowly sufficate and live an awful last few years until your heart just can't handle anymore. But I have the answer. I can show you how to eliminate the risk of those diseases and to lead you to a much longer, healthier, happy life. I can tell you how but you have to do it. Would you do it??????

So here it is. Here is me telling you. You can do this. Watch your calories. It is very simple math, calories in vs calories out. Get your exercise. You will burn lots more calories in a day if you include exercise. Even if you can't do much. Do more than you are right now. Learn about yourself and your relationship with food. Is it hell bent? Figure out that you have to make it a healthy relationship too.
You can do this!! One day at a time. When you fall, yes I said when because you will, your success is dertermined by your ability to pick yourself up brush off and continue trying. You have not failed until you stop trying.
