It pays to know

Sunday, July 18, 2010

I left a week ago Saturday for a week long mission trip to West Virginia with some adults in my church. I knew we would be gone all this past week and didn't do any grocery shopping.
I did stop by the store on the way home and picked up some milk and cantaloupe.

After church this morning we had lunch with some friends. Not all salads are created equal. That much I know. Not all healthy salads or what appears to be healthy are. I ordered Applebee's Oriental Chicken salad. Now if I'd stuck with 1/2 size it wouldn't have been bad. No way!! I ordered and ate the full serving. In order to stay within calorie range, dinner will be light.

I didn't do bad this past week. I tried to stay within calorie range by eating smaller portions and consuming water. Some days I did better. When your trying to stretch your food budget to feed 14, the options are not that great. Nothing fried but lots of starchy foods.

I didn't get in but 2 days of exercise. I'm use to going to bed between 9:00-10:00pm. The late night games of Sequence and movies made it difficult to get up early.

It's back to the program. again. For the umpteenth time. But so be it. At least I'm back. Team 13 (1/2 marathon ) training started last Tuesday while I was gone. I did get in one day of walking last week.

This week I'll be more aware of what I'm eating as we're eating at home this week. No eating out! More fruits and vegetables. Clean eating it this week. No wonder I had bathroom issues while I was gone. Fiber!!! Nature's laxative.

Until next time,

I wouldn't be so hard on myself. It sounds like you had a lot of other things to do and it was only a few days and now you're back and have things planned to be back on track so sending you a emoticon for your week this week. Oh and Amen on the natural laxative!
